Hire Tammy Green
Hi, I’m Tammy Green and I’m looking for an opportunity to use the skills I’ve developed managing Web sites, building social media cred and learning about knowledge management. Why should you hire me? I have a few reasons…
Because I know the Web! I work on these sites to stay ahead:
- Chicago Bites – This is a weekly podcast dedicated to reviewing restaurants in the greater Chicago area and beyond. Working on this site, I’ve learned the mechanics of creating podcasts but have also discovered how to integrate on-line and off-line social networking to build a community. I’ve also learned a lot about search engine optimization as well as food and dining along the way. I’m also active on the Chicago Bites Twitter account.
- Tammy Green – My Aggregated Life – Initially, this was a place to collect personal thoughts, conversations, and amusements. But over the years, this space has evolved to house more professional and cultural observations as well as reflections on how technology shapes and is shaped by daily life. I also feature samples of my photography.
- Roadtripping USA – This site was part travelogue, part mobile adventure, and part experiment in social media integration. I captured scenes from my 17 day road trip across the SW United States while getting input from Twitter and Roadtripping followers about what to do next. It was a great deal of fun, but more importantly demonstrated how people love to get involved and see the results of their input.
- Prime Function – Most of my Prime Function work can be seen through the social media work I do for clients. Ask me more about it!
Because I understand social networking! I use and recommend the following:
- Del.icio.us – Links, papers, interesting tidbits I find online and share
- Facebook – Casual networking
- Flickr – Collection of my digital photography
- FriendFeed – Powerhouse aggregation of social networking feeds
- Google Reader – Where I share articles and tidbits I find among the 300+ information sources I read
- Twitter – Phatic communication with my network. I run multiple accounts: @zesmerelda for personal networking, @tammygreen for link shares, @chicagobites to connect with the Chicago food community, and @tammyprime for social media research
Because I have the skills you need!
- Blogging Platforms & Content Management Systems (ECM) – I have set up and used blogs using everything from Blogger to Movable Type; Word Press to Drupal. I’ve also implemented enterprise-level installations and handled migrations between systems of all shapes and sizes. Need to go from one platform to the next? I’m the person to manage the project.
- Domain Names & Hosting – I’ve owned domain names since the early ’90s. For me, there are no mysteries to buying and setting up Web sites.
- Photography – I work to continually improve my photography skills. Though I’m never happy with the quality of what I produce, others do enjoy and pay for my work. I must be doing something right.
- RSS Feeds – I know how to set them up, optimize them, or set-up hosted RSS services. I also know how to consume them, skin them, and re-purpose them.
- Writing – I have been creating content for the Web for fifteen years. I understand how to set up content publication schedules and write for an on-line audience. My editorial skills aren’t too shabby, either.
