We got to the Winchester Mystery House at about 10am and the next tour was 10:05am. Success! I love it when a plan comes together. We did the mansion tour and saw such sites as the Door to Nowhere, the window in the floor, seance room, the power of 13 (Watch Your Step and Mrs. Winchester are both 13 letters. *shivers*), some lovely Tiffany stained glass windows, and the surrounding gardens.

She keep construction going on the house for 38 years to appease the spirits of those shot by Winchester rifles. They’re not 100% sure that’s why she did it, hence the mystery. It’s a lovely home, though, and I appreciated the oddities. Both Pattie and I think it’s worth a stop next time you’re in San Jose, California.
We’re heading North to San Francisco to see the Painted Ladies and Golden Gate Bridge before heading East.
We’ve traveled 3898.1 miles. It’s 12:09pm.

No time for Napa?
No Napa. It wouldn’t be fun for one to get toasty and the other to stay sober. We’ll go again one day and have someone else drive.
This looks like it was really cool!
It was weird, but fit in perfectly with the wacky nature of the trip. I was rooting for the waffles to win…le sigh
