Yes, you do need to get into the sleeping bag before you go to sleep. It will be effing cold about 5am and you’ll really, really, really regret not making the effort at 9pm.
And birdsong first thing in the morning? It’s not so bad.

Hey, how far north do you think y’all’ll be on the trip back? When we drove Jane & Steve back to Chicago from Seattle, we stopped in some cool campsites… I don’t remember exact names, but there’s an awesome one in Montana that I could definitely tell you how to get to! And, I can clue you in to some sights along I-90 as well if you like…
