CPK Social Media Copywriting Mistake

Bad social media copywriting

Bad social media copywriting

It’s important to get social media reference correct. In this check insert example from California Pizza Kitchen, new Twitter users would get a failure message if they tried to go to twitter.com/@calpizzakitchen. People who’ve been on Twitter a while recognize the mistake and won’t follow @calpizzakitchen because they can’t be bothered to get the community’s patois right. The @ sign in front of the name means “reply”. Details matter, CPK. kthxbai

    Hi Tammy,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. To be clear, we don’t direct customers to a specific URL on our check presenter insert. We just have the Twitter logo plus the name of our account (@calpizzakitchen). However, we do see how the slash can be confusing for newcomers to Twitter and will take this into consideration for the future.
    Thanks again for your feedback.
