This my favorite photo from my recent trip to Gatorland. I get drawn into the contrast between wet and dry; soft swirling sky and dry, sun-baked gator; oily water and tough hide. This alligator is all potential energy. The murky water hides everything and draws the viewer into studying the reflection of clouds. “Feed me your hotdogs. Or small children. Whichever.
