Running a Flickr Campaign
Barack Obama has a Flickr account that is set-up, maintained, and contributed to by his campaign photographers. There are over 15,000 photos spanning a year's worth of the campaign trail.
What's interesting to me isn't the politics, but the fact that the photo sets seem more about the people supporting the candidate than the candidate himself. There are rally photos, snaps of behind the scenes, and candids of every day people. And dogs. :)
It almost feels like a tribute than a plug.
They've done some things right as far as their Flickr usage. All the images are under Creative Commons (yeah!) and have been defaulted to let people blog the photos. Barack's profile in Flickr is complete and includes the fact that he's "male and taken" and his interests include "loafing with the kids".
Still, I would like to see some photos actually taken by Obama. Because if the guy uses a Rebel xTI, then we're set. I would also like to see more effort taken to label photos and add tags. Even with the volume of photos added to the site, it doesn't take that much time.
When I did a quick search, there were 16,146 results for Barack Obama. There were only 249 results for Hilary. I think the Flick community has decided. :)
