I’m participating in NaNoWriMo again this year and hope to complete my second novel by November 30!

A few quick things to get out of the way:

  • I don’t know what the subject of my novel will be yet. Wait until Day 2 to ask — I may have a better idea by then.
  • NaNoWriMo is about getting 50,000 words churned out in a month.  That doesn’t mean it’ll be publishable at the end. I’m not going to foist the rough copy on anyone.
  • I may use the rock star name generator again this year.
  • I will be writing in public — some call it “WIPing”.  Don’t look at me strangely if I use the term.
  • If you do something stupid, excessively interesting, or just plain weird during the coming weeks, it’s fodder for the novel.  Nothing is sacred.
  • Coffee.  Coffee is novelist fuel.  Bring me coffee, or offer to watch my laptop while I run to the ladies room.
  • I will be social during NaNoWriMo, so don’t let me wuss out because I’m “working” on my “novel”.

If you plan to join in, let me know so we can buddy up through the site.  I’m also available for WIPing — particularly on the weekends.

Scarecrows!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

What are people using to manage podcasts within the enterprise? Is there an enterprise version of Apple’s iTunes lurking somewhere? Or are companies using a combination of desktop aggregators and RSS feeds to distribute their content?

I’m concerned because there’s talk of using iPods within our organization for distribution of internally created podcasts (for internal use only) and I believe iPods only use the iTunes interface (which may necessitate public distribution?). I also don’t feel the experience through an aggregator is ideal for people who aren’t used to working with RSS. More people are familiar with iTunes and I’d like to stay as close as possible to that experience.

I’m just starting my research into this area and will report back. However, if someone has already started looking at this, I’d appreciate any information you may have.
