Well, I heard! Strong U of C ties, old Milt had. Back in my economic research days, I worked with people who were close to him professionally and academically.
I was just in Hyde Park, and was surprised not to find it draped in black cloth.
I don't know -- he certainly had his heart in the right place, but I think that the direction he took modern economics has not necessarily had an overall positive impact, from a social perspective. Still, it's sad to see someone so intelligent, articulate, and well-respected pass away.
Isn't he that guy that was famous for cross-dressing on TV? Uncle Miltie?
